Massive attack failed, Haifa police scour area for evidence
The details are a bit sketchy at the moment, but it appears that the car used in the attack was registered to a Jewish woman from Jerusalem, and it was not reported as being stolen. The police however report that the woman was not involved, most likely it’s a case of a forged licence.
The Free Galilee terrorist group, or Galilee Liberation Organization (GLO), has claimed responsibility for past acts of terrorism, such as the murders of Michael Ronkin and Oleg Shaichat. They are group of Israeli Arabs with no known connection with Hamas. Thankfully their murderous intentions were not carried out this time around, and that this incident results in some very good leading to their eventual arrest. KGS
The ‘Free Galilee’ terror group has claimed responsibility for an attempted car bombing attack at a Haifa mall, while police have raised the alert level in the Northern District following the incident.
The massive attack was averted Saturday night after one of several explosive devices hidden in a parked vehicle malfunctioned. After being alerted by an employee of the Lev Hamifratz shopping center, who reported hearing an explosion at about 8:30 p.m. Saturday, police sappers were dispatched to scan the area.
The sappers found a partially exploded bomb in the trunk of a white Subaru car which was parked outside the shopping center. A further search of the vehicle uncovered several more unexploded bombs, which were neutralized by the sappers. No one was injured.
