Of course the whole notion that Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu has honorable views on human rights and the ME “peace process” is a bunch of hooey. The man cares nothing about human rights or of Jews at all, his main mission as head of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) is to promote Islam and Muslim hegemony and deligitimize Israel. Ihsanoglu is an anti-Semite and a Muslim supremacist who can’t even accept the notion that any Muslim could be anti-Semitic, which means even the leaders of Iran who call for the genocide of the Jewish state.
It’s all about Islam, and B.Hussein Obama was ready to pitch a tent with these racists and break bread, until the situation became increasingly an embarrassment, that he just had to relinquish the idea. But don’t be fooled, it’s not because he “just became aware” of the fact that the Durban II agenda could net be changed, and that it’s highly anti-Semitic. Pamela Geller makes a point of noting that it conveniently coincided with the announcement of Chas Freeman being appointed to the top spot at the NIC.
I think that Obama knew all along, but he could no longer escape the fact that he would be held accountable for allowing the US to be present at such a racist conference and giving it credibility. The radical, weather vane president tested the political winds and realized that his decision for the US to attend would end up blowing back in his face. That’s why the US is not going.
WASHINGTON (JTA) — The Obama administration has decided to boycott the so-called Durban II conference out of concerns for anti-Semitism. Multiple sources on a conference call with the White House on Friday told JTA that the Obama administration had opted not to attend any further preparatory meetings ahead of the planned U.N. conference against racism in Geneva in April.
The conference reprises the 2001 conference in Durban, South Africa that devolved into an anti-Jewish free-for-all. Canada and Israel have opted not to attend the conference, and some U.S. Jewish groups had been pressing the United States to do the same. Preparations for a draft document so far have seen Iran leading a coterie of nations blocking inclusion of anything that might guarantee Jewish protections – including mention of the Holocaust – while inserting draconian language guarding Islam against “insult.”
