Hamas Iran Operation Cast Lead

Israel Begins Pullout, Hamas and Iran Declare Victory…….

In the sense that Israel is pulling out of Gaza with Hamas still maintaining a viable network of Qassam launching terrorists, perhaps their jubilant expressions aren’t too misplaced.
In order to defeat one’s enemy thoroughly, they have to be so thoroughly demoralized and downtrodden, that they dare not lift a note of defiance. They must appear to be beaten, and beaten badly beyond any shadow of a doubt.
What’s happening instead, is the setting of the stage for another round of fighting, thanks to the efforts of the international community, who have once again saved a genocidal, religious supremacist movement from utter destruction. Somehow they see a value in keeping Hamas and Hezbollah alive as a movement, which only goes to show just how much contempt they have for the Jewish state. KGS

Iranian president telephones Hamas politburo chief, stresses Palestinian organization must exert pressure for full Israeli withdrawal from Gaza, prosecution of ‘Zionist criminals’ […]
According to the report, Ahmadinejad telephoned Mashaal and told him, “This is only the beginning of victory.” He added that “pressure must be exerted for a complete withdrawal” of the IDF soldiers from the Strip and for the opening of the Gaza crossings.

  1. We won? Hamas won? What a joke. They haven’t killed a single Israeli soldier. The three soldiers who died, were killed by friendly fire… Won? These Pali’s are like crocodiles: always in hiding, a huge mouth made for bragging and whining, short feet for moving through the gutter. Hamas, take a rope and hang yourself.

  2. KGS – The international community clearly had no sway over Israel’s actions. Israel decides when to fight and when to stop fighting. Your idiotic implication that Israel always bows to the meek, hapless mewling of the UN or the EU is not supported by the historical record or common sense. Give credit to Israel for having both the balls and sense you clearly lack. Perhaps you could demonstrate the ability to think if you examined why Israel decided to quit fighting, rather than wrapping your pathetic excuse for analysis in the white flag of victimhood.

  3. Brave move anonymous, firing salvos from the dark is a mark of a coward.

If the IC had firmly stood behind Israel, no doubt Israel would still be in Gaza mopping up the remnants of Hamas, with its leaders in chains to be tried for war crimes.

For the rest of you diatribe, I’ll just consider the source, especially when it’s a cowardly one.

  4. Where is your name, photo and phone number? More than a coward, you’re a hypocrite. More than a hypocrite, you’re an idiot – you still have yet to demonstrate how the IC had any effect on Israel’s actions. I like how you don’t even try to address the criticism – a sure sign of not having an argument with any legs in the first place. How laughable!

  5. My name is my handle, KGS, that’s an accepted identifiable signature in the blogosphere. As for the rest of your comments, if you persist, then you will of course be deleted, because I don’t have to put up with seven your old mentality.

Any reasonable person knows that international pressure always is a factor in the decision making process, concerning the extent and the lenth of an operation can go, before the window of opportunity closes.

It’s one of the reasons why Israel has yet to take action against Iran. You keep making yourself into grand fool by your line of reasoning, accusations and vitriolic ad hominen attacks.

I’ll cut you slack still, but again, if you persist, then you’re out.

  6. If I may play the diplomat.

Much as I’d like to side with anonymous’ arguement that Israel is the sole author of her actions (and we should unreservedly applaud her courage in executing Operation Cast Lead), I think that it is naive to presume that the Israeli cabinet did not take into consideration diplomatic imperatives, and the effects of the sordid propaganda being fed to the hypocritical West, and the incendiary Arabic world, in making her decision to quit fighting.

Of course, we may never know all of the reasons for the decision until some time in the future (if ever). I don’t know if and when Cabinet minutes are made available to the Israeli public? And having said that, I don’t think it is likely that the contents of the private meetings between the off screen actors in this episode will ever come to the light of day (until it comes to memoir writing time!)

However, ‘anonymous’ may be correct in his/her assertion that the ‘meek, hapless mewling of the UN and EU’ rightly holds no sway in Israel’s decision making. Rather, should we consider the scenario in which the regional players who have stabbed hamas in the back holding some sway over Israel’s decisions?

  7. Surely diplomatic imperatives played some role in Israeli decisionmaking, but this is likely a far different story than the Israeli government operating for weeks with impunity, showing up the EU and UN for the ineffectual and impotent snobs they are, but then suddenly and inexplicably having its “hand forced” by said ineffectual pressures. The question remains to be answered why the Israeli government would seek to avoid a full occupation of Gaza in pursuit of the forcible removal of the Hamas government. Is it because they lack the nerve or the ability? Surely not. What would occupation and forcible exorcism win them other than a protracted struggle in unfavorable conditions against a guerrilla enemy, ultimately leading to the “martyrdom” of a Hamas leadership, firmly cementing them as Palestenian heroes and eroding any hopes for moderation in the West Bank. The current Israeli government isn’t so foolish to repeat the mistakes of Lebanon (or of Algeria, or any number of other asymmetric terrorist conflicts against suicidal ideologues). They know that the best path to victory is through the ultimate delegitimization of Hamas as a viable government in the eyes of the Palestenians themselves. Destruction of the will to resist is not achieved through occupation and progrom, satisfying as that option might seem to the hopelessly nearsighted on the far right.

And railing against “ad hominen attacks” KGS? Surely you must be joking. From a page with a photo bearing the title “Village Idiot Speaketh”, and a doctored photo of a newspaper editor sitting on a giant pile of shit… I had no idea there was a standard of discourse to be maintained here.

Hamas will never honor a ceasefire, and as soon as they start firing rockets again, Israel must too.

These people equating Israel with the Nazis have to be insane, and they are mostly from the Left. The Left acting like Nazis and calling for a new Hitler, and for the Jews to go to the ovens, wow! Hitler, someone even most of them would say they hate. The Left, many are anti-semitic Nazis, they should be so proud. The truth is coming out, it is getting harder to hide.

The MSM is insidious, they are instrumental in fanning these flames. We must keep trying to de-brainwash as many people as possible. As the brave Geert Wilders put it recently, “To begin with, there is already a Palestinian state, and that is Jordan. This land covers nearly eighty percent of the historic Palestine. Most residents of Jordan are Palestinians, for instance queen Rania.”

Why doesn’t Jordan take the poor Palestinians in the West Bank and Egypt control the nut jobs in Gaza?

They don’t want them, that’s why. They should be made to take them. That may be the only answer.

Hamas is what makes Gaza much worse than it could be. If they would give up the dream of destroying Israel and the Jews and stopped all missiles and suicide bombers, and all terrorist attacks, Israel would welcome doing business with them, and things would be peaceful. But they can’t do this as long as they follow their Koran strictly.

There is no negotiating with a mad man, or with Jihadis who want to die to go get their 72 virgins.
I hope Israel doesn’t quit too early. If Israel is destroyed, terrorism in the rest of the world will just increase, it will never stop, as long as there are Radical Muslims, or rather, Muslim Fundamentalists; who are appeased, defended, and kissed up to.

  9. Anon then: “The international community clearly had no sway over Israel’s actions”
Anon Now: “Surely diplomatic imperatives played some role in Israeli decision-making,”

Thanks for underlining my position. Indeed what opinions and initiatives are formulated abroad, do factor into the Israeli decision making process, Israel’s top law advisor told me so face to face, it’s a concept that takes many international politicians by surprise, so Anon, you are not alone in that department, Martti Koskenniemi joins you as well.

The EU and UN are ineffectual due to their humanitarian racist treatment of the Palestinians, which refuses to hold them accountable for real war crimes, while they both busily and misguidedly label Israel as an aggressor, and promote all kinds of hair-brained anti-Jewish tropes ad nauseum. Their negligence to hold the Arabs to the very same high standard as they do Israel, is racist in thought and in deed, it’s totally ironic that it’s Israel that treats them as equals, not the EU nor the UN (western) member states.

Anon: “What would occupation and forcible exorcism win them other than a protracted struggle in unfavorable conditions against a guerrilla enemy”

Here’s a clue. Occupying would bring about more international condemnation, no matter how justifiable and prudent it would be. It’s one of the reasons why Israel won’t be letting go of the WB any time soon, not until Hamas’ influence is reduced, and the Palestinians start preparing for peace, not continual war. That means noticeable signs of preparing its public, even more noticeably, their children, for an eventual settlement with the Jewish state. When they begin to silence the anti-Semitism and anti-Israelism (both indistinguishable from the other) inside their mosques, schools media and government apparatuses, and start to care for the rights of their minorities, then Israel would be reacting very differently.

Israel failure will ultimately be seen when the Egyptians refuse to watch its border with Gaza, the tunnels continue to be built, and Hamas begins to rearm, in the very same way as Hezbollah, and I place the blame on a fractured West, that sees many states lining up behind Islamofascists at the expense of a fellow democracy, in much the same way it did to the Lebanese Christian Arabs, and throughout the ME, turning a blind eye to the pogroms and bigoted policies inflicted upon this minority. Christian Europe has become in fact, dhimmified.

As for ad hominen attacks, “Experts” like Martti Koskenniemi who know better, but lie to the Finnish public deserve every bit of the harsh criticism I deliver, because he has embarked on a campaign of disinformation due to his ideology as a Leftist first, and views the whatever laws and military actions through those lenses. International law does not judge conflicts like a day care marm rendering a verdict to two small boys found hitting the other on a play ground, but that’s exactly how Koskenniemi is reacting towards Israel, which makes him into a fool on the international level.

  10. Good to know ad hominen attacks are acceptable when directed at those who don’t share your particular ideology. Isn’t that the kind of argument a Stalinist or an Islamofascist would make? I thought you were here defending Western democratic values, not just yourself.

  11. Calling them as I see it. Casting Israel asa rogue state is an absurd as it’s idiotic. That he continually repeats the same charge, renders him as the village idiot.

    Not apologies offered.

  12. both you guys are very funny. btw it’s “Ad Hominem”, not “hominen” for future reference.
