A 30-year-old settler shot and killed a Palestinian student near the West Bank settlement of Neria on Monday. The shooter told police that he went out for a walk outside the settlement and ran into a group of Palestinians throwing stones at Israeli vehicles. He said that the crowd then turned on him, prompting him to fire warning shots into the air. Since the Palestinians continued to hurl stones at the settler, he fired “at the legs of the rioters,” he said. 17-year-old Muhammad Sallah, a student from Ramallah, suffered a fatal wound to the head, and died on his way to hospital, according to the Palestinian news agency, Ma’an.
