Germany dodged a major bullet with the arrest of three individuals suspected of planning terrorist attacks against a “U.S. military base in Ramstein and Frankfurt’s international airport.”
This latest arrest comes on the heels of the recent arrests of Islamic terrorists in Denmark yesterday, and it wouldn’t surprise me if the two were somehow related. We all know how al-Qaida loves the use of multiple terrorist attacks which are guaranteed to draw the most widespread attention possible.
Great going for our guys in the intelligence community, these arrests always produce more intel the further they are investigated. Hopefully this translates into even more jihadi plans being disrupted, with more Islamic terror cells being destroyed and their members rounded up and thrown into the clink. *L* KGS
Update: From the Islam in Europe blog, Esther writes:
Government security sources told AFP two of the suspects were Germans who had converted to Islam while the third was Pakistani, although other reports said the third suspect held Turkish and German passports.
Last year, Finland’s first case ever (that we know of) of a Finnish convert to Islam getting turned on to jihad, traveled abroad, only to be caught and sent back to Finland. Kudos to the Georgian Border patrol.
