Ahmadinejad to Speak at Columbia University Afterall, The Shame Continues…….

The Tundra Tabloids must correct an earlier report that the scheduled speech by Iranian president, Mahmoud Ahamdinejad, was canceled. The disgraceful event is still scheduled to take place during his visit to the US.

Power Line blog offer the sound reasoning from the Dean and Russell L. Carlson Professor of Finance at the Columbia Business School, Glenn Hubbard, as to why Ahmadinejad should be denied the opportunity to speak:

The University¹s decision to invite Mr. Ahmadinejad to speak on campus and to engage in a dialogue with our students and faculty has polarized our community. Some would argue that a University should be a place of intellectual freedom and open debate, but others including me argue that Mr. Ahmadinejad, who is responsible for the death of American soldiers, denies the Holocaust, and calls for the destruction of Israel, has proven himself incapable of engaging in a true and honest academic discussion.

I agree. Columbia School of International and Public Affairs Acting Dean and Professor John Coatsworth’s blurb that even Adolf Hitler would be welcome to express his views at the university, shows just how much of a “mental midget” many academics are. Kudos to Hubbard for his display of moral clarity. *L* KGS
