Lebanese Army Destroys Palestinian Refugee Camp, The Anti-Israel Media Yawns…….

The ongoing pitched battle between the Lebanese army and the Fatah al-Islam terrorists –who have been holed up in the NAHR AL-BARED refugee camp– has ended in the destruction of the entire camp.

Four Lebanese soldiers were killed in pitched battles with al Qaeda-inspired militants at a Palestinian refugee camp on Sunday as Lebanon’s worst fighting since the civil war entered its 10th week. The deaths brought to 117 the number of soldiers killed in the battles that began on May 20. More than 81 militants and at least 41 civilians have also died.”

…”The camp, home to 40,000 refugees before the hostilities, has been completely destroyed and it was expected to cost hundreds of millions of dollars to rebuild. Its residents have sought shelter in other Palestinian refugee camps Witnesses said”…

Now turn the clock backwards to the year 2002, and try to remember the international uproar over Israel’s operation in the Jenin refugee camp –which had become a nest for terrorists–, in which 25 Israeli soldiers were killed and 52 terrorists. The media was screaming “massacre and cover up”, with EU politicians demanding that Israel be held accountable for committing an alleged war crime.

There wasn’t an ounce of truth to the claim, but that didn’t stop the media from hounding the Israelis and making them into the villians, though the IDF had took the fight to the armed men inside the camp only, as well as saving the overwhelming majority of the Jennin camp from destruction.

Not so in Lebanon. But then it wasn’t the Israeli IDF doing the fighting, so the world could actually care less how many have died or how much has been destroyed,.. and by whom. More here. *L* KGS

  1. Excellent points. It seems like a long time ago, the cries of “massacre in Jenin” are long forgotten. Thanks for the reminder.

When it comes to a policy of “daily humiliation and discrimination of the Palestinian people” nobody does it quite like Lebanon. Yet, the Lebanese are given a free pass by the media, human rights groups and the entire Arab League.
