One problem with the blogosphere is the ability for not entirely factual stories to be disseminated at amazing speed, what happens in far away Finland can be news elsewhere in a matter of seconds. As the Gates of Vienna blog has found out, I too have learned about the true focus of the Finnish Minority Ombudsman’s enquiry and subsequent request to the Finnish police authorities for an investigation of Mr.Ellilä.
The Laiva on Täynnä blog has the full translated Minority Ombudsman, Mikko Puumalainen’s intial written request to the Finnish Central Police viewable here. As I noted elsewhere, the mist is beginning to clear over the whole affair, and I owe the Tundra Tabloids readership an update on what’s what.
As Baron Bodissey from the Gates of Vienna points out, “When you read through the charges against Mr. Ellilä, you will encounter in his quoted writings statements about race and intelligence. I want to make my personal opinion clear: I do not credit any of the theories that assert a genetically-based racial component to intelligence.”
I emphatically agree with the Baron, and state that neither do I give any credit to such opinions as expressed by Ellilä concerning race and intelligence. I was under the impression that the basis of the brouhaha was over his criticisms of Islam and the political correctness that tries to keep any such criticisms from being broached in public discourse.
This is my blog and I alone am responsible for its content and support given on its pages for any individual and/or group. That said, I still believe that Mikko Ellilä’s posts concerning Islam do not contain anything that could be prosecuted by the Finnish authorities. *L* KGS
