Syrian ‘Mine Tossing’ Sparks Israeli Complaint …….

Syrians toss old mines over the border fence with Israel, and Jerusalem intends to “file a complaint” with the United Nations Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF), the international observer force that monitors the ceasefire between Syria and Israel. Perhaps the complaint will be filed under MT for …….”mine tossing”?

Though it’s a serious provocation about which little can be done, it most certainly pales to the Syrians acting as a conduit for Iranian weapons heading for the Hezbollah, a gross violation of the UN Security Council’s resolution 1701. Israel’s concerns about the Hezbollah being resupplied by Iranian weapons once the Unifil forces started patrolling the areas vacated of Israeli troops, have proven to have been well founded.

Any complaint lodged by Israel over Iranian weapons being smuggled across the Syrian-Lebanese border these past few months, has probably been filed under ‘MT’ as well, but not for mine tossing. More here. *L* KGS
