JPost journalist, Khaled Abu Toameh, describes the reactions to the “Mecca deal” from all sides involved. Well worth the read. More here. *L* KGS
Note: TINSC left the following in the comment section:
“This is a slow process that started when Yasser Arafat refused to confront terrorism when he first entered Palestine. Abbas is finally making clear what should have been clear long ago: the Palestinians want to perpetuate the War Against Israel until all of the former Palestinian Mandate is theirs.
The fundamental arguement between the Hamas and the PLO is whether to kill the Jews now or later. The European media and their US liberal allies continue to avoid reporting the news details that clearly support this fact.”
I believe that TINSC’s comments are supported by the historical record. The international community can easily gauge the level of commitment of both Hamas and Fatah, for a two state solution, by the level of incitement they generate within their society towards the state of Israel.
The international community can also guage what kind of Palestinian state Hamas and Fatah would like to set up, by the way they treat their own minorities. Christians, Gays and Women’s equal rights are of little or of no signifinace to the planners of the future Palestinian state. All of these groups are threatened, beaten and abused by the male/Muslim majority.
The Palestinians will no longer be a threat to Israel, when they are no longer a threat to themselves.
