Hezbollah kingpin, Sheik Hassan Nasrallah has his Hez supporters back into the streets once again in the Lebanese capital, to rally against Fouad Siniora’s government. One noticeable change in Hezbollah’s tactics, is the lack of the “Party of God” yellow and green flags. They’re all carrying (at least mostly) the nation’s flag of the green Cedar. More on it here.
Michael Totten has more here, as well as on Druze leader, Walid Jumblatt’s disgust over Hezbollah here. The Hezbollah has designs in seeking a much larger role for itself in Lebanon, which will make it even that much more difficult to disarm (if that was ever even a possibility). Hezbollah, a de facto “state within a state”, is seeking to devour the “host” state itself, driving the nation that much closer to another civil war.
One interesting point worth mentioning, is that the Druze leader, Walid Jumblatt, believes in the two state solution, being strongly against the destruction of the Jewish state of Israel. *L* KGS
