Finnish EU Presidency In Shambles; "Hezbollah Not Deemed A Terrorist Group"…….

The tin foil hat resting upon Finnish FM, Erkki Tuomioja’s head, represents the disconnect with reality this new EU presidency has with reality. In response to a question about the status of Hezbollah, would it be included on a EU list of organizations that are considered to be terrorist, he replied:

“Given the sensitive situation, I don’t think this is something we will be acting on now,”

In other words, since Israel and the US are presently going against (the Finnish) EU foreign policy, we’ll do what we know best and stick our heads up our collective arse, and leave the Hezbollah off the terror list, just to annoy them both. This of course could come back to haunt him and this Finnish presidency in months or years to come, if the Hezbollah begin to strike outside of Lebanon (not just in Israel).

This of course brings an intersting dilemma to the forefront. Those (the EU) who claim Israel’s response has been disproportionate in relation to the original attack by Hezbollah, claim that Israel is fighting a terrorist group not a state, (as yesterday’s editorial in the Central Finland newspaper claimed) and this warrants a different response. Tuomioja now says that the Hezbollah is not a terrorist group, so I would expect the holder of this week’s tin hat award, to reverse his original statement on Israeli tactics being disproportionate.

Actually, EU types like “EKI” were fundamentally frustrated that the Hezbollah committed such an open act of aggression. So blatant was the attack by the Hezbollah terrorists, that it couldn’t be window dressed by any of their traditional EU apologetics. So they took to disparaging Israel with incredibly lame and false claims of “disproportionate use of force” in fighting terrorists hiding within a civilian population, literally using them as shields. In trying to preach from a seemingly “moral high ground”, EU leaders resumed their traditional anti-Israeli stance, proving to me that they lack any basic understanding of the concept of morality. Dershowitz say it best here.

This is not the first time has Israel been condemned for a war, not of its choosing, and vilified for trying to win it. History repeats itself. KGS
