Talk about the “tail wagging the dog”, according to a article in The Times, ‘Cigars, birds, flowers and servants — life inside Jericho jail’, “Saadat and Shobaki were very much in charge,” one prison source said. “These guys were running the prison. They did what they wanted, when they wanted.”
With cell phones, tv’s and computers, the murderers of Israeli Minister Le’evi lived a life in the Palestinian jail that never should have been allowed. The monitors were denied to search the cells of the prisoners as well as having their phone jamming devices turned off. There was even the real threat of themselves being kidnapped by the PFLP as they liberated their comrades.
Of course the Finnish media is not concerning themselves with this side of the story, they’re more interested in portraying the Israeli elections as the key motivating factor in Israel’s raid. Perhaps it never occured to them that Israel has a moral justification in assuring prior agreements are kept, and that murdering terrorists are indeed kept behind bars. As far as the Palestinian Authority is concerned, the ‘new kids on the block’ are just as inept and untrustworthy as the ‘corrupt old cronies’ of Fatah. KGS
