Imagine, that’s what IAEA Director General Mohammed ElBaradei repeatedly asked his audience to do, who were gathered at Oslo’s City Hall. I would like to respond with an ”IMAGINE” of my very own.
Imagine a world in which the UN would have a competant IAEA Director General, that would not allow for, nor be ignorant of, AQ Kahn’s wide spread nuclear proliferation under his very nose.
Imagine a world in which there wouldn’t be nuclear proliferation on such a grand scale, that totalitarian thuggeries such as North Korea, the Islamic Republic of Iran and (suddenly seen the light, had) Lybia have advanced nuclear technology which now constitutes a clear and present danger to the free world.
Imagine a world in which a UN IAEA Director General would be a no nonsense watch dog, not prone to playing ‘footsie’ with totalitarians who openly speak of destroying a fellow UN member state, Israel.
Imagine a world in which a UN IAEA Director General would not have refused to bring an intransigent Iranian government before the UN security council.
Imagine a world in which a UN IAEA Director General would not be given a Nobel Peace Prize after being responsible for all of the above. KGS
